Hello and welcome to the the Ledger Wallet Setup guide.
⚠️ Before we start:
- Install Ledger Live and connect your Ledger Wallet to ensure you are set up correctly.
- Install the latest version of the EOS app on your Ledger device.
- Brave Browser users - ensure Shield is set to down for Proton.Bloks.io
Let's get started.
- To initiate the connection process, navigate to proton.bloks.io
- Click on “Login”
- Select Ledger S/X
Plug in your Ledger device and enter your pin. The following screen will appear:
Select the method you wish to use (USB or Bluetooth).
Switch to your Ledger device, unlock it and open the EOS app
⚠️ If you see the following message, try the troubleshooting options below.
Turn off Shield (Brave Browser)
Try to connect to Ledger Live software
The latest version of the EOS app must be installed and opened on your Ledger device
Since this is the first time using your Ledger, you will see a message similar to the image above stating there are “No Accounts Found”. This is to be expected. Copy one of the public keys displayed onto a notepad.
Now, we need to create a Proton Wallet account. For details on how to create a Proton Wallet, take a look at this guide.
Connect your newly created wallet to proton.blocks.io
Click on Login
Select Proton Wallet
Open the Proton Wallet app and select the Scan QR button located on the bottom toolbar

Click on “Wallet” On the top right hand side
Next, click on “Keys and Permissions”
Paste the Key that was copied from your Ledger wallet into the “New Active Key” space and click Change Permissions.
⚠️ Double check to ensure the Active Key is correct. Pasting the wrong Active Key can result in permanent loss of access to the account.
Follow the on screen prompts to confirm the change.
That’s it! Now, all transaction confirmations will need to be confirmed on your ledger device. Transaction instructions will be displayed on your Ledger device.
